Timothy I chapter 5

Timothy I 5:1: ^B Seneigana ni andbeitais, ak gaþlaih swe attin, juggans swe broþruns;; — πρεσβυτέρῳ μὴ ἐπιπλήξῃς, ἀλλὰ παρακάλει ὡς πατέρα, νεωτέρους ὡς ἀδελφούς,; — Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father; and the younger men as brethren;
Timothy I 5:2: ^B sineigos swe aiþeins, juggos swe swistruns in allai swiknein.; — πρεσβυτέρας ὡς μητέρας, νεωτέρας ὡς ἀδελφὰς ἐν πάσῃ ἁγνείᾳ.; — The elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity.
Timothy I 5:3: ^B widuwons swerai, þozei bi sunjai sijaina widuwons.; — χήρας τίμα τὰς ὄντως χήρας.; — Honour widows that are widows indeed.
Timothy I 5:4: ^A .... galaisjaina sik faurþis swesana gard barusnjan jah andalauni usgiban fadreinam; þata auk ist andanem in andwairþja gudis.; ^B iþ jabai hvo widuwono barna aiþþau barne barna habai, galaisjaina <sik> faurþis swesana gard barusnjan jah andalauni usgiban fadreinam; þata auk ist [god jah] andanem in andwairþja gudis.; — εἰ δέ τις χήρα τέκνα ἢ ἔκγονα ἔχει, μανθανέτωσαν πρῶτον τὸν ἴδιον οἶκον εὐσεβεῖν καὶ ἀμοιβὰς ἀποδιδόναι τοῖς προγόνοις, τοῦτο γάρ ἐστιν ἀπόδεκτον ἐνώπιον τοῦ θεοῦ.; — But if any widow have children or nephews, let them learn first to shew piety at home, and to requite their parents: for that is good and acceptable before God.

Timothy I 5:6: ^{A + B} iþ so wizondei in azetjam jah libandei dauþa ist.; — ἡ δὲ σπαταλῶσα ζῶσα τέθνηκεν.; — But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth.
Timothy I 5:7: ^A jah þata anabiud ei ungafairinodos sijaina.; ^B jah þata anabiud ei ungafairi<no>dos sijaina.; — καὶ ταῦτα παράγγελλε, ἵνα ἀνεπίλημπτοι ὦσιν.; — And these things give in charge, that they may be blameless.
Timothy I 5:8: ^{A + B} aþþan jabai hvas swesaim þishun ingardjam ni gaþlaihiþ, galaubein inwidiþ jah ist ungalaubjandin wairsiza.; — εἰ δέ τις τῶν ἰδίων καὶ μάλιστα οἰκείων οὐ προνοεῖ, τὴν πίστιν ἤρνηται καὶ ἔστιν ἀπίστου χείρων.; — But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
Timothy I 5:9: ^A widuwo gawaljaidau ni mins saihs tigum jere, sei wesi ainis abins qens,; ^B widuwo gawaljaidau ni mins saihs tigum jere, sei wesi ainis abins qens,; — χήρα καταλεγέσθω μὴ ἔλαττον ἐτῶν ἑξήκοντα γεγονυῖα, ἑνὸς ἀνδρὸς γυνή,; — Let not a widow be taken into the number under threescore years old, having been the wife of one man.
Timothy I 5:10: ^A in waurstwam godaim weitwodiþa habandei, jah barna fodidedi, jah gastins andnemi, jah weihaim fotuns þwohi, jah aglons winnandam andbahtidedi, jah allamma waurstwe godaize afarlaistidedi.; ^B in waurstwam godaim weitwodiþa habandei, jau barna fodidedi, jau gastins andnemi, jau weihaim fotuns þwohi, jau aglons winnandam andbahtidedi, jau allamma ....; — ἐν ἔργοις καλοῖς μαρτυρουμένη, εἰ ἐτεκνοτρόφησεν, εἰ ἐξενοδόχησεν, εἰ ἁγίων πόδας ἔνιψεν, εἰ θλιβομένοις ἐπήρκεσεν, εἰ παντὶ ἔργῳ ἀγαθῷ ἐπηκολούθησεν.; — Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints' feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work.
Timothy I 5:11: ^A iþ juggos widuwons biwandei; þan auk gairnidedeina wiþra Xristu, liugan wileina,; — νεωτέρας δὲ χήρας παραιτοῦ: ὅταν γὰρ καταστρηνιάσωσιν τοῦ χριστοῦ, γαμεῖν θέλουσιν,; — But the younger widows refuse: for when they have begun to wax wanton against Christ, they will marry;
Timothy I 5:12: ^A habandeins staua, unte frumein galaubein wana gatawidedun.; — ἔχουσαι κρίμα ὅτι τὴν πρώτην πίστιν ἠθέτησαν:; — Having damnation, because they have cast off their first faith.
Timothy I 5:13: ^A aþþan samana jah unwaurstwons laisjand sik þairhgaggan gardins, aþþan ni þatain unwaurstwons, ak jah unfaurjos jah fairweitjandeins, rodjandeins þoei ni skulda sind.; — ἅμα δὲ καὶ ἀργαὶ μανθάνουσιν, περιερχόμεναι τὰς οἰκίας, οὐ μόνον δὲ ἀργαὶ ἀλλὰ καὶ φλύαροι καὶ περίεργοι, λαλοῦσαι τὰ μὴ δέοντα.; — And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.
Timothy I 5:14: ^A wiljau nu juggos liugan, barna bairan, garda waldan ....; — βούλομαι οὖν νεωτέρας γαμεῖν, τεκνογονεῖν, οἰκοδεσποτεῖν, μηδεμίαν ἀφορμὴν διδόναι τῷ ἀντικειμένῳ λοιδορίας χάριν:; — I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.
Timothy I 5:16: ^A .... widuwons, andbahtjai im, jah ni kaurjaidau aikklesjo, ei þaim bi sunjai ....; — εἴ τις πιστὴ ἔχει χήρας, ἐπαρκείτω αὐταῖς, καὶ μὴ βαρείσθω ἡ ἐκκλησία, ἵνα ταῖς ὄντως χήραις ἐπαρκέσῃ.; — If any man or woman that believeth have widows, let them relieve them, and let not the church be charged; that it may relieve them that are widows indeed.
Timothy I 5:17: ^A .... in waurda jah in laiseinai.; — οἱ καλῶς προεστῶτες πρεσβύτεροι διπλῆς τιμῆς ἀξιούσθωσαν, μάλιστα οἱ κοπιῶντες ἐν λόγῳ καὶ διδασκαλίᾳ:; — Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.
Timothy I 5:18: ^A qaþ auk gameleins: auhsau þriskandin munþ ni faurwaipjais; jah: wairþs sa waurstwa mizdons is.; — λέγει γὰρ ἡ γραφή, βοῦν ἀλοῶντα οὐ φιμώσεις: καί, ἄξιος ὁ ἐργάτης τοῦ μισθοῦ αὐτοῦ.; — For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.
Timothy I 5:19: ^A bi praizbwtairein wroh ni andnimais, niba in andwairþja twa<d>dje aiþþau þrije weitwode.; — κατὰ πρεσβυτέρου κατηγορίαν μὴ παραδέχου, ἐκτὸς εἰ μὴ ἐπὶ δύο ἢ τριῶν μαρτύρων.; — Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses.
Timothy I 5:20: ^A iþ þans frawaurhtans in andwairþja allaize gasak, ei jah þai anþarai agis habaina.; — τοὺς ἁμαρτάνοντας ἐνώπιον πάντων ἔλεγχε, ἵνα καὶ οἱ λοιποὶ φόβον ἔχωσιν.; — Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.
Timothy I 5:21: ^A weitwodja in andwairþja gudis jah fraujins unsaris Iesuis Xristaus jah þize gawalidane aggile, ei þata fastais inu faurdomein, ni waiht taujands bi wiljahalþein.; ^B .... wiljahalþein.; — διαμαρτύρομαι ἐνώπιον τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ χριστοῦ ἰησοῦ καὶ τῶν ἐκλεκτῶν ἀγγέλων, ἵνα ταῦτα φυλάξῃς χωρὶς προκρίματος, μηδὲν ποιῶν κατὰ πρόσκλισιν.; — I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.
Timothy I 5:22: ^A handuns sprauto ni mannhun lagjais, ni gamainja siais frawaurhtim framaþjaim; þuk silban swiknana fastais.; ^B handuns sprauto ni man<n>hun lagjais, ni gamainja sijais frawaurhtim framaþjaim; þuk silban swiknana fastais.; — χεῖρας ταχέως μηδενὶ ἐπιτίθει, μηδὲ κοινώνει ἁμαρτίαις ἀλλοτρίαις: σεαυτὸν ἁγνὸν τήρει.; — Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men's sins: keep thyself pure.
Timothy I 5:23: ^{A + B} ju ni drigkais þanamais wato, ak weinis leitil brukjais in qiþaus þeinis jah þizo ufta sauhte þeinaizo.; — μηκέτι ὑδροπότει, ἀλλὰ οἴνῳ ὀλίγῳ χρῶ διὰ τὸν στόμαχον καὶ τὰς πυκνάς σου ἀσθενείας.; — Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities.
Timothy I 5:24: ^A sumaize manne frawaurhteis swikunþos sind faurbisniwandeins du stauai; sumaizeh þan jah afargaggand.; ^B sumaize manne frawaurhteis swikunþos sind faurbisniwandeins du stauai; sumaize þan jah afargaggand.; — τινῶν ἀνθρώπων αἱ ἁμαρτίαι πρόδηλοί εἰσιν, προάγουσαι εἰς κρίσιν, τισὶν δὲ καὶ ἐπακολουθοῦσιν:; — Some men's sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some men they follow after.
Timothy I 5:25: ^A samaleiko þan jah waurstwa goda swikunþa sind, jah þoei aljaleikos sik habandona filhan ni mahta sind.; ^B samaleiko þan jah waurstwa goda swikunþa sind, jah þoei aljaleikos sik habandona filhan ni mahta sind.; — ὡσαύτως καὶ τὰ ἔργα τὰ καλὰ πρόδηλα, καὶ τὰ ἄλλως ἔχοντα κρυβῆναι οὐ δύνανται.; — Likewise also the good works of some are manifest beforehand; and they that are otherwise cannot be hid.
