Corinthians II chapter 10

Corinthians II 10:1: ^B Aþþan ik silba Pawlus bidja izwis bi qairrein jah mukamodein Xristaus, ikei ana andaugi raihtis hauns im in izwis, aþþan aljar wisands gatraua in izwis.; — αὐτὸς δὲ ἐγὼ παῦλος παρακαλῶ ὑμᾶς διὰ τῆς πραΰτητος καὶ ἐπιεικείας τοῦ χριστοῦ, ὃς κατὰ πρόσωπον μὲν ταπεινὸς ἐν ὑμῖν, ἀπὼν δὲ θαρρῶ εἰς ὑμᾶς:; — Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence am base among you, but being absent am bold toward you:
Corinthians II 10:2: ^B aþþan bidja[n] ei ni andwairþs gatrauau trauainai, þizaiei man gadaursan ana sumans þans munandans uns swe bi leika gaggandans.; — δέομαι δὲ τὸ μὴ παρὼν θαρρῆσαι τῇ πεποιθήσει ᾗ λογίζομαι τολμῆσαι ἐπί τινας τοὺς λογιζομένους ἡμᾶς ὡς κατὰ σάρκα περιπατοῦντας.; — But I beseech you, that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence, wherewith I think to be bold against some, which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh.
Corinthians II 10:3: ^B in leika auk gaggandans ni bi leika drauhtinom.; — ἐν σαρκὶ γὰρ περιπατοῦντες οὐ κατὰ σάρκα στρατευόμεθα –; — For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
Corinthians II 10:4: ^B unte wepna unsaris drauhtinassaus ni leikeina, ak mahteiga guda du gataurþai tulgiþo,; — τὰ γὰρ ὅπλα τῆς στρατείας ἡμῶν οὐ σαρκικὰ ἀλλὰ δυνατὰ τῷ θεῷ πρὸς καθαίρεσιν ὀχυρωμάτων – λογισμοὺς καθαιροῦντες; — (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
Corinthians II 10:5: ^B mitonins gatairandans jah all hauhiþos ushafanaizos wiþra kunþi gudis jah frahinþandans all fraþje jah in ufhausein Xristaus tiuhandans; — καὶ πᾶν ὕψωμα ἐπαιρόμενον κατὰ τῆς γνώσεως τοῦ θεοῦ, καὶ αἰχμαλωτίζοντες πᾶν νόημα εἰς τὴν ὑπακοὴν τοῦ χριστοῦ,; — Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
Corinthians II 10:6: ^B jah manwuba habandans du fraweitan all ufarhauseino, þan usfulljada izwara ufhauseins.; — καὶ ἐν ἑτοίμῳ ἔχοντες ἐκδικῆσαι πᾶσαν παρακοήν, ὅταν πληρωθῇ ὑμῶν ἡ ὑπακοή.; — And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.
Corinthians II 10:7: ^B þo bi andwairþja saihviþ. jabai hvas gatrauaiþ sik silban Xristaus wisan, þata þagkjai aftra af sis silbin, ei swaswe is Xristaus, swa jah weis.; — τὰ κατὰ πρόσωπον βλέπετε. εἴ τις πέποιθεν ἑαυτῷ χριστοῦ εἶναι, τοῦτο λογιζέσθω πάλιν ἐφ' ἑαυτοῦ ὅτι καθὼς αὐτὸς χριστοῦ οὕτως καὶ ἡμεῖς.; — Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? If any man trust to himself that he is Christ's, let him of himself think this again, that, as he is Christ's, even so are we Christ's.
Corinthians II 10:8: ^B aþþan sweþauh jabai hva managizo hvopam bi waldufni unsar, þatei atgaf frauja unsis du timreinai jah ni du gataurþai izwarai, ni gaaiwiskonda.; — ἐάν [τε] γὰρ περισσότερόν τι καυχήσωμαι περὶ τῆς ἐξουσίας ἡμῶν, ἧς ἔδωκεν ὁ κύριος εἰς οἰκοδομὴν καὶ οὐκ εἰς καθαίρεσιν ὑμῶν, οὐκ αἰσχυνθήσομαι,; — For though I should boast somewhat more of our authority, which the Lord hath given us for edification, and not for your destruction, I should not be ashamed:
Corinthians II 10:9: ^B ei ni þugkjaima swe þlahsjandans izwis þairh bokos; —; — ἵνα μὴ δόξω ὡς ἂν ἐκφοβεῖν ὑμᾶς διὰ τῶν ἐπιστολῶν:; — That I may not seem as if I would terrify you by letters.
Corinthians II 10:10: ^B unte þos raihtis bokos, qiþand, kaurjos sind jah swinþos, iþ qums leikis lasiws jah waurd frakunþ; —; — ὅτι, αἱ ἐπιστολαὶ μέν, φησίν, βαρεῖαι καὶ ἰσχυραί, ἡ δὲ παρουσία τοῦ σώματος ἀσθενὴς καὶ ὁ λόγος ἐξουθενημένος.; — For his letters, say they, are weighty and powerful; but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible.
Corinthians II 10:11: ^B þata þagkjai sa swaleiks, þatei hvileikai sium waurda þairh bokos aljar wisandans, swaleikai jah andwairþai waurstwa.; — τοῦτο λογιζέσθω ὁ τοιοῦτος, ὅτι οἷοί ἐσμεν τῷ λόγῳ δι' ἐπιστολῶν ἀπόντες, τοιοῦτοι καὶ παρόντες τῷ ἔργῳ.; — Let such an one think this, that, such as we are in word by letters when we are absent, such will we be also in deed when we are present.
Corinthians II 10:12: ^B unte ni gadaursum domjan unsis silbans aiþþau gadomjan uns du þaim sik silbans anafilhandam; ak eis in sis silbam sik [sik] silbans mitandans jah gadomjandans sik silbans du sis silbam ni fraþjand.; — οὐ γὰρ τολμῶμεν ἐγκρῖναι ἢ συγκρῖναι ἑαυτούς τισιν τῶν ἑαυτοὺς συνιστανόντων: ἀλλὰ αὐτοὶ ἐν ἑαυτοῖς ἑαυτοὺς μετροῦντες καὶ συγκρίνοντες ἑαυτοὺς ἑαυτοῖς οὐ συνιᾶσιν.; — For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.
Corinthians II 10:13: ^B iþ weis ni inu mitaþ hvopam, akei bi mitaþ garaideinais þoei gamat unsis guþ mitaþ fairrinnandein und jah izwis. —; — ἡμεῖς δὲ οὐκ εἰς τὰ ἄμετρα καυχησόμεθα, ἀλλὰ κατὰ τὸ μέτρον τοῦ κανόνος οὗ ἐμέρισεν ἡμῖν ὁ θεὸς μέτρου, ἐφικέσθαι ἄχρι καὶ ὑμῶν.; — But we will not boast of things without our measure, but according to the measure of the rule which God hath distributed to us, a measure to reach even unto you.
Corinthians II 10:14: ^B ni auk swaswe ni fairrinnandans und izwis ufarassau ufþanjam uns, unte jah und izwis gasniumidedum in aiwaggeljon Xristaus. —; — οὐ γὰρ ὡς μὴ ἐφικνούμενοι εἰς ὑμᾶς ὑπερεκτείνομεν ἑαυτούς, ἄχρι γὰρ καὶ ὑμῶν ἐφθάσαμεν ἐν τῷ εὐαγγελίῳ τοῦ χριστοῦ:; — For we stretch not ourselves beyond our measure, as though we reached not unto you: for we are come as far as to you also in preaching the gospel of Christ:
Corinthians II 10:15: ^B ni inu mitaþ hvopandans in framaþjaim arbaidim, aþþan wen habam at wahsjandein galaubeinai izwarai in izwis mikilnan bi garaideinai unsarai du ufarassau,; — οὐκ εἰς τὰ ἄμετρα καυχώμενοι ἐν ἀλλοτρίοις κόποις, ἐλπίδα δὲ ἔχοντες αὐξανομένης τῆς πίστεως ὑμῶν ἐν ὑμῖν μεγαλυνθῆναι κατὰ τὸν κανόνα ἡμῶν εἰς περισσείαν,; — Not boasting of things without our measure, that is, of other men's labours; but having hope, when your faith is increased, that we shall be enlarged by you according to our rule abundantly,
Corinthians II 10:16: ^B ufarjaina izwis aiwaggeljon merjan, ni in framaþjaim arbaidim du manwjaim hvopan.; — εἰς τὰ ὑπερέκεινα ὑμῶν εὐαγγελίσασθαι, οὐκ ἐν ἀλλοτρίῳ κανόνι εἰς τὰ ἕτοιμα καυχήσασθαι.; — To preach the gospel in the regions beyond you, and not to boast in another man's line of things made ready to our hand.
Corinthians II 10:17: ^B aþþan sa hvopands in fraujin hvopai.; — ὁ δὲ καυχώμενος ἐν κυρίῳ καυχάσθω:; — But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
Corinthians II 10:18: ^B unte ni saei sik silban gaswikunþeiþ, jains ist gakusan[d]s, ak þanei frauja gaswikunþeiþ.; — οὐ γὰρ ὁ ἑαυτὸν συνιστάνων, ἐκεῖνός ἐστιν δόκιμος, ἀλλὰ ὃν ὁ κύριος συνίστησιν.; — For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth.
