Timothy II chapter 2

Timothy II 2:1: ^B Þu nu, barn mein waliso, inswinþei þuk in anstai þizai in Xristau Iesu,; — σὺ οὖν, τέκνον μου, ἐνδυναμοῦ ἐν τῇ χάριτι τῇ ἐν χριστῷ ἰησοῦ,; — Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
Timothy II 2:2: ^B jah þoei hausides at mis þairh managa weitwodja [waurda gudis] þo anafilh triggwai<m> mannam, þaiei wairþai sijaina jah anþarans laisjan.; — καὶ ἃ ἤκουσας παρ' ἐμοῦ διὰ πολλῶν μαρτύρων, ταῦτα παράθου πιστοῖς ἀνθρώποις, οἵτινες ἱκανοὶ ἔσονται καὶ ἑτέρους διδάξαι.; — And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
Timothy II 2:3: ^B þu nu arbaidei swe gods gadrauhts Xristaus Iesuis.; — συγκακοπάθησον ὡς καλὸς στρατιώτης χριστοῦ ἰησοῦ.; — Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
Timothy II 2:4: ^B ni ainshun drauhtinonds fraujin dugawindiþ sik gawaurkjam þizos aldais, ei galeikai þammei drauhtinoþ.; — οὐδεὶς στρατευόμενος ἐμπλέκεται ταῖς τοῦ βίου πραγματείαις, ἵνα τῷ στρατολογήσαντι ἀρέσῃ:; — No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
Timothy II 2:5: ^B jah þan jabai haifsteiþ hvas, ni weipada, niba witodeigo brikiþ.; — ἐὰν δὲ καὶ ἀθλῇ τις, οὐ στεφανοῦται ἐὰν μὴ νομίμως ἀθλήσῃ.; — And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.
Timothy II 2:6: ^B arbaidjands airþos waurstwja skal frumist akrane andniman.; — τὸν κοπιῶντα γεωργὸν δεῖ πρῶτον τῶν καρπῶν μεταλαμβάνειν.; — The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.
Timothy II 2:7: ^B fraþei þatei qiþa; gibiþ auk þus frauja fraþi us allaim.; — νόει ὃ λέγω: δώσει γάρ σοι ὁ κύριος σύνεσιν ἐν πᾶσιν.; — Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.
Timothy II 2:8: ^B Gamuneis Xristu Iesu urrisanana us dauþaim us fraiwa Daweidis bi aiwaggeljon meinai,; — μνημόνευε ἰησοῦν χριστὸν ἐγηγερμένον ἐκ νεκρῶν, ἐκ σπέρματος δαυίδ, κατὰ τὸ εὐαγγέλιόν μου:; — Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel:
Timothy II 2:9: ^B in þizaiei arbaidja und bandjos swe ubiltojis; akei waurd gudis nist gabundan.; — ἐν ᾧ κακοπαθῶ μέχρι δεσμῶν ὡς κακοῦργος, ἀλλὰ ὁ λόγος τοῦ θεοῦ οὐ δέδεται.; — Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.
Timothy II 2:10: ^B inuh þis all gaþula bi þans gawalidans, ei jah þai ganist gatilona, sei ist in Xristau Iesu miþ wulþau aiweinamma.; — διὰ τοῦτο πάντα ὑπομένω διὰ τοὺς ἐκλεκτούς, ἵνα καὶ αὐτοὶ σωτηρίας τύχωσιν τῆς ἐν χριστῷ ἰησοῦ μετὰ δόξης αἰωνίου.; — Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
Timothy II 2:11: ^B triggw þata waurd: jabai miþgadauþnodedum, jah miþlibam;; — πιστὸς ὁ λόγος: εἰ γὰρ συναπεθάνομεν, καὶ συζήσομεν:; — It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:
Timothy II 2:12: ^B jabai gaþulam, jah miþþiudanom; jabai afaikam, jah is afaikiþ uns;; — εἰ ὑπομένομεν, καὶ συμβασιλεύσομεν: εἰ ἀρνησόμεθα, κἀκεῖνος ἀρνήσεται ἡμᾶς:; — If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:
Timothy II 2:13: ^B jabai ni galaubjam, jains triggws wisiþ; afaikan sik silban ni mag.; — εἰ ἀπιστοῦμεν, ἐκεῖνος πιστὸς μένει, ἀρνήσασθαι γὰρ ἑαυτὸν οὐ δύναται.; — If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.
Timothy II 2:14: ^B þizei gamaudei, weitwodjands in andwairþja fraujins; waurdam weihan du ni waihtai daug, niba uswalteinai þaim hausjondam.; — ταῦτα ὑπομίμνῃσκε, διαμαρτυρόμενος ἐνώπιον τοῦ θεοῦ μὴ λογομαχεῖν, ἐπ' οὐδὲν χρήσιμον, ἐπὶ καταστροφῇ τῶν ἀκουόντων.; — Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.
Timothy II 2:15: ^B usdaudei þuk silban gakusanana usgiban guda waurstwjan unaiwiskana, raihtaba raidjandan waurd sunjos.; — σπούδασον σεαυτὸν δόκιμον παραστῆσαι τῷ θεῷ, ἐργάτην ἀνεπαίσχυντον, ὀρθοτομοῦντα τὸν λόγον τῆς ἀληθείας.; — Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Timothy II 2:16: ^B iþ þo dwalona usweihona lausawaurdja biwandei; unte filu gaggand du afgudein,; — τὰς δὲ βεβήλους κενοφωνίας περιΐστασο: ἐπὶ πλεῖον γὰρ προκόψουσιν ἀσεβείας,; — But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
Timothy II 2:17: ^B jah waurd ize swe gund wuliþ; þizeei ist Wmainaius jah Filetus,; — καὶ ὁ λόγος αὐτῶν ὡς γάγγραινα νομὴν ἕξει: ὧν ἐστιν ὑμέναιος καὶ φίλητος,; — And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;
Timothy II 2:18: ^B þaiei bi sunjai uswissai usmetun, qiþandans usstass ju waurþana, jah galaubein sumaize uswaltidedun.; — οἵτινες περὶ τὴν ἀλήθειαν ἠστόχησαν, λέγοντες [τὴν] ἀνάστασιν ἤδη γεγονέναι, καὶ ἀνατρέπουσιν τήν τινων πίστιν.; — Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.
Timothy II 2:19: ^B aþþan tulgus grunduwaddjus gudis standiþ, habands sigljo þata: kunþa frauja þans þaiei sind is, jah: afstandai af unselein hvazuh saei namnjai namo fraujins.; — ὁ μέντοι στερεὸς θεμέλιος τοῦ θεοῦ ἕστηκεν, ἔχων τὴν σφραγῖδα ταύτην: ἔγνω κύριος τοὺς ὄντας αὐτοῦ, καί, ἀποστήτω ἀπὸ ἀδικίας πᾶς ὁ ὀνομάζων τὸ ὄνομα κυρίου.; — Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
Timothy II 2:20: ^B aþþan in mikilamma garda ni sind þatainei kasa gulþeina jah silubreina, ak jah triweina jah digana, jah suma du sweraim, sumuþ~þan du unsweraim.; — ἐν μεγάλῃ δὲ οἰκίᾳ οὐκ ἔστιν μόνον σκεύη χρυσᾶ καὶ ἀργυρᾶ ἀλλὰ καὶ ξύλινα καὶ ὀστράκινα, καὶ ἃ μὲν εἰς τιμὴν ἃ δὲ εἰς ἀτιμίαν:; — But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
Timothy II 2:21: ^A .... du allamma waurstwe godaize gamanwiþ.; ^B aþþan jabai hvas gahrainjai sik þizei, wairþiþ kas du sweriþai, gaweihaiþ, bruk fraujin, du allamma waurstwe godaize gamanwiþ.; — ἐὰν οὖν τις ἐκκαθάρῃ ἑαυτὸν ἀπὸ τούτων, ἔσται σκεῦος εἰς τιμήν, ἡγιασμένον, εὔχρηστον τῷ δεσπότῃ, εἰς πᾶν ἔργον ἀγαθὸν ἡτοιμασμένον.; — If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.
Timothy II 2:22: ^A aþþan juggans lustuns þliuh; iþ laistei garaihtein, galaubein, frijaþwa, gawairþi miþ þaim bidai anahaitandam fraujan us hrainjamma hairtin.; ^B aþþan juggans lustuns þliuh; iþ laistei garaihtein, galaubein, friaþwa, gawairþi miþ þaim bidai anahaitandam frauja<n> us hrainjamma hairtin.; — τὰς δὲ νεωτερικὰς ἐπιθυμίας φεῦγε, δίωκε δὲ δικαιοσύνην, πίστιν, ἀγάπην, εἰρήνην μετὰ τῶν ἐπικαλουμένων τὸν κύριον ἐκ καθαρᾶς καρδίας.; — Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
Timothy II 2:23: ^{A + B} iþ þos dwalons jah untalons soknins biwandei, witands þatei gabairand sakjons.; — τὰς δὲ μωρὰς καὶ ἀπαιδεύτους ζητήσεις παραιτοῦ, εἰδὼς ὅτι γεννῶσιν μάχας:; — But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.
Timothy II 2:24: ^{A + B} iþ skalks fraujins ni skal sakan, ak qairrus wisan wiþra allans, laiseigs, usþulands,; — δοῦλον δὲ κυρίου οὐ δεῖ μάχεσθαι, ἀλλὰ ἤπιον εἶναι πρὸς πάντας, διδακτικόν, ἀνεξίκακον,; — And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
Timothy II 2:25: ^{A + B} in qairrein talzjands þans andstandandans, niu hvan gibai im guþ idreiga du ufkunþja sunjos,; — ἐν πραΰτητι παιδεύοντα τοὺς ἀντιδιατιθεμένους, μήποτε δώῃ αὐτοῖς ὁ θεὸς μετάνοιαν εἰς ἐπίγνωσιν ἀληθείας,; — In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
Timothy II 2:26: ^A jah usskarjaindau us unhulþins wruggon, fram þammei gafahanai habanda afar is wiljin.; ^B jah usskarjaindau us unhulþins wruggon, fram þammei gafahanai tiuhanda afar is wiljin.; — καὶ ἀνανήψωσιν ἐκ τῆς τοῦ διαβόλου παγίδος, ἐζωγρημένοι ὑπ' αὐτοῦ εἰς τὸ ἐκείνου θέλημα.; — And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
